To Apply for this Job Click Here Job ID: 902833 Job Title Registered Nurse (RN) – Stepdown / Cardiovascular Unit (Nights) Location Petoskey, MI | Stepdown / IMC / PCU Schedule / Job Type Contract | Night Shift | Onsite Key Responsibilities Apply clinical judgment to assess, diagnose, and treat patient responses to actual or potential cardiovascular health conditions Provide specialized care for cardiology patients, including those post-procedure (PTCA, stents, TAVR, MitraClip, bi-ventricular pacemakers) and approximately 18–24 hours post open heart surgery Manage and monitor patients with congestive heart failure and those undergoing electrophysiology studies Interpret and respond to EKG findings as part of ongoing patient monitoring Collaborate as part of an interdisciplinary care team to ensure evidence-based, patient-centered care and positive outcomes Float to similar units within the health system as needed Required Qualifications Active Michigan RN license (LARA and Nursys verification required) Minimum 1 year of Stepdown experience required Cardiac proficiency required EKG comfortability required ACLS certification required BLS certification required Must be a travel nurse (contract position); candidates with a permanent address within 35 miles of the facility may be subject to a reduced travel rate Skills checklist completed within the past year is required Must be willing to float to similar units Preferred Experience / Skills Experience with national clinical trial protocols or research-based nursing environments Familiarity with care of post-operative open heart surgery patients in a stepdown or PCU setting Experience with electrophysiology patient populations Why Join Us Work within a nationally recognized cardiovascular program at a facility honored as a Top 50 Heart Hospital in the U.S., offering exposure to a high-acuity, high-volume cardiovascular patient population Join a collaborative, award-winning unit with a strong culture of teamwork, shared governance, and professional nursing development To Apply for this Job Click Here
