How Workybara works

Where the jobs come from

Workybara continuously crawls jobs from across the web: company career pages, applicant tracking systems like Greenhouse, Lever, Workday, and many others, plus the long tail of small company sites that do not use any standard platform. Listings come straight from the source, not from other aggregators.

Being honest about the trade-off: because listings live on third-party sites, a job can close or change before our next crawl notices. We recheck sources on a regular cycle and remove listings we can no longer verify, but you may occasionally click through to a role that has just closed. That is the nature of aggregation, and we would rather tell you that up front.

What happens to your resume

When you upload a resume, three things happen:

• The file is stored securely so you do not have to re-upload it, and you can replace or delete it at any time.
• AI models extract the text and turn it into a structured profile: your skills, roles, and accomplishments. You review and edit this profile; nothing is locked in.
• Your profile is converted into a numerical representation (an embedding) that powers matching. The matching itself runs on infrastructure we operate.

Your resume is used to match you with jobs. It is never sold, never shared with employers without your action, and never used to train third-party models. The full detail lives in the Privacy Policy.

How matching works

Keyword search asks you to describe a job the way the employer happened to write it. Workybara instead compares what you can do with what each job needs: the skills in your profile are matched against the skills each job description actually asks for, including near matches, so "built dashboards in Tableau" still counts for a role that asks for data visualization.

Your For-You feed ranks jobs by that overlap. The more complete your profile, the better the ranking gets, which is why the profile builder keeps suggesting skills you might have forgotten to claim.

What we optimize for

Workybara is not trying to maximize your time on the site. The goal is the opposite: surface the right roles fast, so you can stop searching. It is free for job seekers, and we do not sell your data. See the FAQ for the short answers.
