  • Coordinate with utility owners, clients, engineers, surveyors, field crews, CADD/GIS staff, contractors, subconsultants, and other project stakeholders.
  • Review utility information, survey data, plans, mapping, and field data to identify potential conflicts and develop appropriate solutions.
  • Oversee preparation and review of utility exhibits, conflict matrices, relocation plans, engineering plans, reports, and other project deliverables.
  • Apply SUE principles and applicable industry standards, including ASCE 38, while maintaining Halff quality requirements. Halff's internal SUE career guide specifically references ASCE/UESI/CI 38-22.
  • Manage quality assurance and quality control to ensure accurate, complete, and high-quality project deliverables.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships and serve as a primary point of contact throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor project budgets, schedules, resources, and deliverables, proactively addressing issues that could impact successful delivery.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to engineers, EITs, coordinators, CADD/GIS staff, and other project team members.
  • Collaborate with other Halff practices and offices to successfully deliver multidisciplinary projects.
  • Support proposal development, project scoping, fee development, and other business development efforts.

What you will need:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering or an ABET-accredited equivalent engineering program.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas, or ability to obtain Texas licensure through reciprocity within an appropriate timeframe preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in SUE/UC, transportation, utilities, or related civil infrastructure projects.
  • Experience managing utility coordination, utility conflict identification, and/or utility relocation projects.
  • Strong project management experience, including scope, budgets, schedules, staffing, and project delivery.
  • Ability to interpret engineering plans, survey information, utility data, mapping, and construction documents.
  • Working knowledge of utility infrastructure, including water, wastewater, storm sewer, electric, gas, and telecommunications systems.
  • Knowledge of SUE principles, methodologies, and applicable industry standards, including ASCE/UESI/CI 38-22.
  • Experience working with DOT, municipal, transportation, or other public infrastructure clients/projects preferred.
  • Familiarity with CAD, GIS, MicroStation, AutoCAD, or related design and data management platforms.
  • Strong client management, communication, technical writing, organization, and problem-solving skills.
