About Unlimit
Unlimit is the global fintech powerhouse behind the world’s largest proprietary payments infrastructure.
Founded in 2009, Unlimit operates across 17 global offices with 700+ experts, seamlessly integrating 1,000+ payment methods into a single platform. From London to São Paulo, we empower businesses to scale across borders with a unified suite of financial tools — including payment processing, alternative payment methods, multicurrency business accounts, card issuing, banking-as-a-service, and crypto on- and off-ramps.
Our mission is to break down financial barriers and enable seamless money movement across borders. We give forward-thinking businesses the tools to accept, send, and manage payments effortlessly, wherever they operate.
Summary
We are looking for a Lead Oracle Developer to design, optimize, and evolve Unlimit’s enterprise-grade Oracle data platforms that power our global financial systems. You will lead database design and performance initiatives across OLTP and OLAP environments, ensuring scalability, reliability, and seamless integration with data pipelines and AI-driven analytics.
What you will be doing
At Unlimit, data sits at the heart of our products — from payments and Banking-as-a-Service to AI-enabled solutions. As a Lead Oracle Developer, you will shape the future of our data architecture, ensuring our databases are optimized, secure, and ready to support real-time operations at global scale.
You’ll define and drive the evolution of Oracle database development across high-volume transactional (OLTP) and analytical (OLAP) systems. Working closely with application teams, data engineers, and DBAs, you’ll plan and deliver complex database releases, review critical code, and ensure that performance, integrity, and reliability standards are consistently met.
You will lead a small team of developers, set priorities, and guide them in implementing best practices for design, testing, and optimization. Beyond traditional development, you’ll partner with platform and data teams to integrate Oracle data flows with modern pipelines, analytics systems, and AI workloads — ensuring that the foundation we build today supports the intelligent systems of tomorrow.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role for someone who thrives on performance tuning, process improvement, and empowering others to deliver excellence.
Qualifications
6+ years of professional experience in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL development, ideally at or above OCP (Oracle Certified Professional) level.
Solid understanding of OLTP and OLAP systems, including design, performance optimization, and maintenance.
Proven experience developing and supporting 24x7 high-availability systems.
Strong skills in query tuning, indexing, partitioning, and performance diagnostics using AWR/ASH or equivalent tools.
Experience leading or mentoring a team of developers (2+ people).
Proficiency with Git for version control and release management.
Structured analytical thinking and attention to detail.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related IT field.
English proficiency (B2 or higher) for effective collaboration in a global environment.
Nice to have
Knowledge of data warehouse design principles and ETL integration.
Familiarity with AI or analytics workloads that leverage Oracle or hybrid data architectures.
Experience with automation, CI/CD pipelines, and Terraform for database provisioning.
Understanding of PostgreSQL or cloud-managed databases (e.g., Aurora, RDS).
Proven ability to collaborate across teams to resolve production performance and scalability challenges.
