Interview: One 1-hour technical/practical interview (in-person preferred) with a panel.
Pay: $55/hr - $58/hr c2c

Job Overview

This engineer will support telematics data collection ECMs and radios, performing embedded software development for Caterpillar's connected machine technologies. The work involves developing, testing, debugging, and maintaining embedded software running on Linux-based systems. Typical responsibilities include:

• Developing embedded software in modern C++
• Working with system requirements and implementing software solutions
• Debugging and troubleshooting embedded systems
• Performing SIL/HIL testing
• Writing and maintaining test scripts
• Investigating and reproducing software defects
• Collaborating with architects and requirements owners in an Agile environment

Typical Day-to-Day Work

• Requirements management
• Embedded C++ development
• Test script creation
• Bug investigation and debugging
• Software-in-the-loop (SIL) and Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing
• Working closely with software architects and project leads to deliver functionality that meets acceptance criteria

Top Requirements

Required Experience & Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• 2-4 years of relevant experience
• Relevant internships can count toward experience requirements
